The ZopeFish project sets out to hook up Pike, a desktop outline editor, with Zope, the open source web application server.
Pike, from Userland software, was originally released to enable desktop editing of remote web sites running Manila, Userland's content management system. However, as all the editing interfaces are implemented using XML-RPC, this makes it possible for other Pike to interface with other systems.
The ZopeFish project is constructing software for Zope (known as a Zope "Product") which handles editing of editorial content in response to Pike. Although Zope is a powerful system, many feel that it needs a solid content management application to make it big time on the web. ZopeFish is certainly a step in the right direction.
